Abstract

This paper aims to present favorable alternative to promote pineapple production in Nicaragua as an integral segment of the process of growth and diversification of exports. The outline evaluates a period of four years. Quantitative data are supported by the FAOSTAT database and other sources such as MIFIC CETREX, DGA, ECLAC and CIS. The technical procedure of this paper is constituted by the descriptive statistics on the basis of commercial rates that are inherent conceptual and illustrative commercial dynamics of the Central American region parameter. Their results validate the commercial trend over the years, setting a significant precedent, especially in production level of our country. The term qualifies the report, resulting in the potential of pineapple degree, as provided under free market conditions globally and in the comparative advantages and disadvantages of Nicaragua with respect to what is still the traditional practice of the country, yields internationally Nicaragua that position as a net importer attractive market to other markets within the Central American region and the world.
