The risk assessment and individual performance of the shares of Apple, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation

The evaluation of the risk and performance of any asset is fundamental in the investment decision-making process, therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the risk and individual shares of Apple Inc. and Microsoft companies performance Corporation, from quotations of the shares of these companies prices, during the period from March 1, 2013 to March 1, 2018. To determine the risk and performance, were using different statistical techniques such as the mean or average, range, variance, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. The results showed that the average Apple stock performance was 2.40% with a standard deviation of 6.36%, while Microsoft was 2.38% and 6.08%. It was determined by the index of performance that the actions of Microsoft obtained higher performance per unit of risk assumed.
