The main theme and objective focus on the analysis of humanistic development in San Sebastián de Yalí, with emphasis on the case of coffee cutters. The methodology developed has a purely qualitative approach, which uses the methods of information collection, the ethnographic method, the anthropological activities and the method of bibliographic review, the techniques that served as support for the methods. In the processing of the data, the data analysis technique is applied. San Sebastián de Yalí bases its main economic activity on the agroexport model, the system in force for decades, has submerged the country in an economic dependence, which generated a worsening of inequalities, which contradicts that this municipality despite contributing to the generation of foreign currency, is among the fifteen poorest municipalities; In the last decade, with the change of government and the implementation of programs that point to a new logic of development, significant progress has been made in education and health, however, it can not be denied that, in economic matters, it is of an economic legacy. System that for a deep change deserves structural changes, the integral human development has been limited. In conclusion, the economic development proposed by the capitalist system despite showing itself as a recipe for solving problems, has had an opposite effect on social problems, therefore it can be considered as an anti-humanist system which deepens the gap in social inequality, pushing the continuity of cultural patterns.
