Vich, Victor. César Vallejo: a poet of the event

It is impossible to talk about modern Peruvian poetry without alluding at least once to César Vallejo. In fact, it seems correct to summarize the Spanish-American avant-garde in its poetic voice, so original in its style and so influential in later poets, but the truth is that its transcendence does not overshadow its compatriots or its Spanish-speaking brothers in matters of poetry.
