Abstract

This work interprets a poem by Manuel Mantero entitled “For Antonio Machado, in response to his poem‘To maestro Rubén Darío”, a text that he circulated for a period of time pretending to be a universal Nicaraguan. In this poem-tribute Mantero converged both Machadian and Darian poetics, in addition to
the Spanish tradition, in a creative formulation of imitation in the cont ext of 1967
