Realizations of the phonetic fricative, alveolar, deaf / s / in speakers of San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua: sociolinguistic perspective

Abstract

The analysis of this research was obtained with the cooperation of 20 informants from San Juan from the South, Rivas, Nicaragua. It was decided to do it in this place with the objective of contributing to the Nicaraguan phonetics characterization, considering the scant study that It has been made in this town. The social variables of sex, age and level of education were of great importance for the development of this work, especially at the time of analyze the phoneme variants / s /. This inquiry is the result of the monograph (2014), directed by Master Francis Mendoza Morán, and can be considered a contribution towards the characterization of Nicaraguan phonetics.
