El estetoscopio se ha convertido en un elemento indis-pensable en la práctica de la medicina. Desde el Hindus Vedas (ca 1500-1200 A.C.), Ebers Papyrus (ca 1500 A.C.) e Hipócrates (ca 460-380 A.C.) se ha registrado la existencia de la auscultación.
