Abstract

Humanity, which throughout history has suffered pandemics that have caused the death of millions of people, is currently affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this article is to provide strategies for timely and efficient management that contribute to reducing morbidity and mortality at the hospital level. For the preparation of this article, the bibliography of certified institutions was reviewed on the subject, finding that most of the publications focus on the approach to a pandemic as a country; very little literature that focuses on the hospital approach. That is why, according to current experience, in which we observed serious weaknesses in the hospitals of the public sector hospital network, strategies are suggested appropriate to our environment, so that hospital authorities can cope with a pandemic.
