Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the most common congenital infection, with an incidence of 0.2 to 2.2% in live births. 10 to 15% of infected newborns are symptomatic. Common clinical signs are jaundice, petechiae and hepatosplenomegaly addition to prematurity, thrombocytopenia and anemia. His fetal diagnosis is suspected by ultrasonography and conirmed by detection of Ig G in sample taken dare cordocentesis or amniocentesis.
