Benign tumor of vulva in post menopause patient. A case report and literature review

Introduction: During the transition, and particularly after menopause, vulva undergoes a series of regressive changes due to decreased estrogen levels increase while certain pathologies associated with epithelial tropism. Case: We report the case of a woman of 63 years who consulted for a vulvar tumor 12 years of evolution, slow growth, without any other accompanying symptoms, without any particularity in their pathological or gynecological antecedents; it was subjected to a surgical excision and subsequent histological study which classifies the tumor as benign fibrous spindle cell tumors. Discussion: After menopause increases the risk of cancer of vulva. Benign tumors are not specific tumors of the vulva, in fact are rare, but overall can be said to be very common at the level of the whole economy, they are not in the vulva and less during menopause.- This case is reported because of its rare occurrence, however, it should be aware for the differential diagnosis of cancer of vulva. Conclusion: The diagnosis of tumors of the vulva is a rare find, even in postmenopausal patients suggesting the need for an appropiate differential diagnosis.
