Abstract

Anovulation still a major cause of infertility in recent years has presented a boom ; this literature review will focus on one of its main causes: The Polycystic ovary syndrome, which it is a heterogeneous endocrine and metabolic disorder, probably of genetic origin, influenced by environmental factors such as nutrition and physical activity. Considered as one of the main causes of amenorrhea and consequently infertility, with physical changes of not pleasant appearance in the woman’s body. These directly affect her in their quality of life. Actually it has been shown that there are risk factors such as obesity, sedentary, lifestyle , poor eating habits and inherited metabolic disorders involving insulin resistance , which have led an increase in cases of this disease, even though to changes in lifestyle which are directly influenced by current trends in society. The prevalence of this disease is around 5-10% in the general population.
