Dietsand nutrition in children withselected neurologicaldiseases

The relationship between diets, nutrition and diseases is recognized since the medicine beginnings. We emphasize the importance of the breastfeeding, an adequate and opportune nutrition, related to macro and micronutrients, the importance of iron in the development of neural tissue. All these factors are necessary for an appropriate brain development to grant cognitive and behavioral abilities. We give some recommendations about diets in neurological disorders in children: cerebral palsy, refractory epilepsy, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder. An extensive literature review was performed on Hinari, Medline and Pubmed databases from 1990 to 2014. In the pediatric neurological disorders we proposed a multidisciplinary approach, with focus in personalized topics.
