Background: 2023 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitología Antonio Vidal (IAV), Tegucigalpa, Honduras, a private non-profit foundation. Objective: To analyze the scientific production in whose authorship at least one of the authors has institutional affiliation with IAV, period 1993-2023. Methods: Bibliometric study compiling data through a search in the Virtual Health Library of Honduras (http://www.bvs.hn/RMH/html5) and databases (Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science [(WOS]) that offer profiles of the research activity of authors and institutions. An Excel database was created using the following fields: authors, titles, national and international institutional affiliations, collaboration in authorship by country, publication format (book/scientific article), type of article, national and international journals, year of publication and number of citations. Results: 55 publications were identified, 44.8 (22) in English language, 87.3% (48) published between 2014 and 2023; 89.1% (49) were published in scientific journals, 7.3% (4) in book/ manual type format and 3.6% (2) preprint. Of 49 published articles, 51.0% (26) received 575 citations according to Google Scholar, 63.0% (14) received 217 citations according to Scopus and 66.0% (15) received 306 citations according to WOS. Discussion: Three decades after its constitution, the IAV has increased its membership and scientific production. Half of the articles have been published in international journals with some impact index thanks to the collaboration network and strategic alliances of different research groups globally.
