Oropouche fever: a reemerging disease in the Americas

Oropouche fever is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes in tropical areas of Latin America; causing fever, headache, muscle pain and rash. In Honduras, understanding Oropouche fever and its impact on public health is of vital importance. The country's conditions favor the proliferation of the vectors that transmit this virus. Limited epidemiological surveillance and limited knowledge of the disease make early diagnosis and effective response to outbreaks difficult effective response to possible outbreaks. It is therefore essential to promote awareness of Oropouche fever and its relevance in the context of Honduran public health. This review provides a comprehensive review of epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment strategies treatment strategies. The search for scientific articles was in English and Spanish on platforms such as PAHO, SciELO, WHO and Research4life, including recent, relevant studies and excluding non-scientific sources and unconfirmed cases.
