The article states that the peace projects of the age of Enlightenment are one of the essential elements of this movement. To address this current, the article starts with a new methodology based on distinguishing between grammatical rules or internal logic of the Enlightenment and its expressions. It argues that the fundamental lines of these projects (participation of every individual in politics, development of democracy, importance of public opinion, respect for equality between peoples and cultures, as well as for their diversity, promotion of culture of peace and creation of Europeanism, Americanism and cosmopolitanism), were part of the grammatical norms or internal logic of the Enlightenment. In a second moment, it seeks to explain that the most important ideas of these peace projects continue today to encourage us to reflect on our problems.
