The XIV Latin American Congress of Peace Research of the Latin American Council for Peace Research (CLAIP), entitled “Beats of Hope: Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation through Peaceful Means”, was held from April 1 to 4, 2025 at the Externado University of Colombia, with a broad convocation that brought together more than a dozen academic institutions, networks, social movements and organizations from Latin America as co-convening entities. It was also sponsored by more than 60 universities, study centers and international collectives. During three days, more than 500 authors from more than 20 countries shared with more than 1,000 attendees a total of 324 presentations, as well as round tables, workshops, book presentations and artistic interventions, articulated around eight thematic axes. The Congress represented a milestone for the discipline of Peace and Conflict Studies in Latin America, both for the richness and diversity of the proposals presented and for the interdisciplinary dialogue generated among researchers, activists, artists and social organizations committed to the nonviolent transformation of conflicts and the defense of life.
