Abstract

In these lines, the author investigates memory and the uses that are made of it. As an element of history, it delves into the concepts of memory, past and collective memory, where oral tradition, image and written memory acquire enlightening meanings. The conclusion of these reflections is the concept that collective memory is the sphere of study of History, pointing out the lessons, the forgets and the silences about the past.
