Abstract

The author intends to make a synthesis of the philosophical thought of Ignacio Ellacuría. He affirms that, in Ellacuría’s conception, philosophy cannot be fully realized if it is not understood as a moment of a global historical praxis, which conditions it and gives it meaning. And that in a historical context of pressure and dehumanization, the liberating function of philosophy is explicitly put in favor of a liberating praxis.
