The purpose of the study is to evaluate the mediating effect of strategic orientation OES on the relationship between organizational learning capacity CAO and innovative performance DI in Mipymes. The methodological design was based on a regression analysis of a sample of 162 Mipymes in Costa Rica obtained through an instrument applied to owners, managers, and directors of the companies. The results show that innovative performance is determined and positively influenced when MSMEs take advantage of their organizational learning capacity and integrate in their operation dimensions such as exploration, risk assumption, contact with the environment and a dialogue and participation of their members. Likewise, the strategic orientation followed by micro and SME's, whether proactive, analytical or defensive, is a significant determinant in this relationship.
