The social issue in Latin America in the light of Medellín

The II Regional Conference of the Latin American episcopate held in Medellin Colombia, between August 24 and September 6, 1968 now fifty years. The conclusions of this meeting were published as “Papers of Medellin” and lead by subtitle the Church in the current transformation Latin America in the light of the Council. Hereinafter will be cited only as “Medellín”. In this article, from the background of the document the author inquiries about the Latin American context of the times in the document, stopping in the consciousness of the social change to analyze what Medellin made possible and think about what tells US today Medellín.
