In this article, the author analyses the liberating potential of education, although acknowledging that modern education has primarily played a conservative role. For the author, education is a complex reality in which many elements converge that determine its liberating potential. The article focuses on one of them: the way we understand the subject. According to the article, the emancipatory possibility of education implies understanding the subject as a real, living subject, protagonist, and not as a subject or as an ideal subject who defines himself in relation to the object.
