Abstract

The author makes a keen analysis of the political situation in the light of the recent presidential elections. It argues that when the goal is the conquest of political power, the rules of the democratic game are not respected; that the parties center politicians, have no choice in political life, therefore, that the FMLN remains the only option for the ruling party.
