Abstract

This article studies some conceptual features of human dignity in four great thinkers of the Greco-Latin world: Plato, Aristotle, Cicero and Seneca. Through some of the main works of these authors certain keys of dignity are explored and the level of importance they hold is considered. Similarly, this paper seeks to determine what kind of dignity these philosophers refer to when they speak
about human excellence, what are the main sources of dignity they warn, as well as some of the obstacles they see for the possible development of human dignity.
