Abstract

Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador make up the so-called northern triangle of Central America, region with similar social, economic and political problems. This essay analyzes how corruption, lack of transparency and the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated the sociopolitical problems that arise in these countries, which cause serious human rights violations. Analyzing the measures taken by its presidential leaders, the effects of corruption during the pandemic and the suspension of labour guarantees have had an impact on the population; in order to establish a global vision through a literature review and to determine whether there has been a positive or a contrary lead in the management of this health crisis.
