The COVID-19 pandemic forced the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), like most educational institutions, to make extraordinary efforts to develop their educational processes in alternative modalities to face-to-face. This reality provoked innumerable efforts from the actors involved in the educational process, especially teachers and students, who, in a short time, assumed the historical challenge of moving from a face-to-face educational model to a virtual educational model, a process for which they did not have the skills nor the adequate technological infrastructure. The research carries out a comparative analysis of the quality of face-to-face education and virtual education provided by the Regional University Center of the UNAH Center, in the period 2020-2023, examining the advantages and disadvantages of each modality, the academic progress, and the level of satisfaction of the students, having as the main source of information the opinions, criteria, reflections, and evaluations of students and teachers and, as secondary sources, official documents of the UNAH and related investigations.
