Abstract

This investigation contains the necessary indications to make effective the elaboration of a plan for the protection of the Corn Island archeological patrimony in accordance with the existent juridical order. The purpose of such a plan is to obtain the development of a process of social change and the implementation of sustainable actions to attain the preservation of the archeological resources inventoried in the Municipality of Corn Island. For this reason this plan of protection is presented as an strategy that includes the opinions of specialists in the matter of archeology and the input provide by the local actors. This, with the objective of preserving, manage and have a good exploitation of the archeological resource, taking into account the present reality.

Yamil Serrano Romero, Center for Research and Documentation of the Atlantic Coast

Yamil Abraham Serrano Romero, nacido en Juigalpa, Chontales, en 1985, se graduó en Licenciatura en Historia con orientación en Arqueología en la UNAN en 2009. En el mismo año, participó en un taller de Historia Oral y Museología. Entre los proyectos en los que ha trabajado en el Caribe nicaragüense destacan: Visual Arqueológica en la comunidad de San Pedro, RAAS; Inventario Participativo de Sitios Arqueológicos del Territorio Indígena Rama-Kriol y del municipio de Com Island (2012-2013); y Documentación de Sitios Arqueológicos en las comunidades de Muelle de los Bueyes y Presilla, RAAS (2011).
