The challenges of the draining and land registration process as a measure to protect the indigenous property

The author of this article, diffuses the progresses and current challenges of the demarcation, land registration and draining process of the territories that are constituted by indigenous villages and afro-descendants of the Autonomous Region of the Caribbean Coast and the basin of the Bocay, Wangki (Coco), Indio and Maiz rivers, which are located in the Jinotega and Rio San Juan departments of Nicaragua. Specifically, the article deals with the most significant challenges so that this process crowns with a true protection method for the Human Rights and the self-determination and sustainable development of these villages and communities, based on their collective property.
