This article is the preview of a book in process of publication which is the product of an insitu research program developed with Ulwa elders/as of the ancient community of Awawak, today Hamada Karawala. It is an effort to transmit knowledge of our ancestral culture, which has been carried out since the formation of the Ulwa cultural rescue organization CODIUL/UYUTMUBAL in 1988. These investigations have been possible thanks to the voluntary work done by the author of this book, with the support of the North American brothers Dr. Ken Hale (q.e.p.d.) and Dr. Tom Green; Dr. Ken Hale (q.e.p.d.) and Dr. Tom Green; and Dr. Ken Hale (q.e.p.). Tom Green; and with the participation of community brothers such as Manuel Simón Walter, Jonatan Julián, Mandri Julián, Ernesto Rafael and his wife Elena, Leiva Simón, Bina Briton, Silviston Wallen, Justina Patterson, Amalia, Raquel Martínez, Genora Ellick, Tomas Gamboa, Justicia Blanco, Irma Blanco, Cecilia Palmiston, Gregoria Palmiston, Osefa Wallen, Reyna Simon, Martin Crimins, Francklin Crimins Narciso Simon, Prudencia Francis, who have passed away, and the current cultural carriers who appear in the text.
