Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the needs of teaching methodology and the learning attitude of the English language in the first year students of the Bachelor of Arts with specialization in English Language and the Bachelor of Arts in English. This in order to create objectives focused on the specific students characteristics, which help to enhance learning. The exploratory type study was developed with the qualitative paradigm. 60 first-year students from both degrees were surveyed, using a survey with a needs analysis format. With this technique, it was found that students need a better type of assessment, especially one focused on learning.
