Abstract

This article objective to identify the curricular, ontological, scientific, psycho-pedagogical changes in nursing training in in El Salvador, from the Educational Reform of 1994, and thus establish advantages of the current educational model. Methodology, instruments, qualitative techniques and methods such as hermeneutics for the interpretation of data or texts were applied, along with symbolic interpretation; Data triangulation and the Weft QDA 1.0.1 program were also used in its categorization. The results of the study evidenced a standardized educational program; a professional image that transcends a stigma of completeness, demonstrating that the priorities of training in a globalizing society are: maintaining the professional image, the values and a self-critical professionalism that allows one to advance from one traditional healthcare model to another, and one of facilitating learning that in a digital generation builds learning as profitable as possible. In conclusion, it is proposed a training by specialty in the scientific field of Nursing and a new educational model in accordance with social changes.
