Biological pandemic and emotional pandemic: psychological effects of the pandemic in Paraguay

Abstract

The effects of the pandemic and the measures taken have effects on people’s emotional health. This was evident in the short and medium term, and its effects continue to be investigated over time. The study was developed with the purpose of analyzing the psychological effects of the pandemic on the population, and in Paraguay, considering the factors related to it and the emotional consequences that a pandemic entails. The work was bibliographic in nature, analyzed from articles and research carried out from a psychological perspective, on the effects of the pandemic. The results found were that isolation and the unknown scenario caused people to experience feelings of fear, anguish, stress, anxiety, associated with the circumstances experienced by the people. In agreement with the authors studied, it was concluded that the most common psychological effects caused by the pandemic are the feelings mentioned above, depression, stress, and anxiety, were the ones with the highest incidence in Paraguay.
