The present article entitled "Implementation of the figure of the teleworking in the public sector in Costa Rica: progress and challenges" represents an advance of my PhD at the Polytechnic University of Nicaragua. The aim of this article is to describe the experience of Costa Rica in the different stages of teleworking implementation process, as a result of a series of interviews with some important actors and public officials which participated in this process in order to identify the flaws and the challenges for the future implementation of teleworking in countries of Central American region.
The discussion of this work focuses on the theoretical framework of the regional report "Challenges for the implementation of teleworking in the legal systems of Central American countries" developed during my research stay at the University of San Jose, Alajuela, as a fellow of the regional academic exchange program, organized by the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System and sponsored by the Spanish Cooperation, between May and June, 2016.
