Abstract

Psychology in the field of justice seeks, primarily, to understand the motivations of transgressive behavior, and at the same time study the way in which norms or laws influence society. This article explores the psychosocial variables that surround adolescents who break the laws in Argentina, Spain and Nicaragua, in order to reach a more complete reading of the complex situation of transgressions in childhood and adolescence. The mechanisms and uses of Juvenile Criminal Mediation in these countries and the role played by psychologists who are involved in the process are also discussed. The comparative study that is implemented here, allows to give visibility to the current situation of the children in different regions and to generate possible reciprocal enrichments.
