Mega-corruption and its impact on Latin American political regimes

Within this article, the author briefly reviews the phenomenon of corruption since Socrates, IV century BC., to this day, explaining its political, economic and social implications up to arriving to the contemporary scenario of Latin America, describing the significantly corrupt means of important public officials such as heads of States and governments, ministers, magistrates, congressmen, businessmen Journalists, among others, that by violating the constitutional legal order, not only are they undermining the legal framework but also driving investment away , thus depriving people from their rights, depleting the coffers of the State, which contribute to criminality and citizen insecurity, which at the same time fosters impunity and exacerbates the precariousness of public institutions and this increases migration and refugees. In other words, illegality hijacks the State and corrodes its governability, making the poor poorer and fosters it inequality. Faced with these facts, an intentional fight is proposed through a State policy that recovers not only assets but credibility and trust, the purpose of which must be the common good.
