Injustice and negativity, in Ignacio Ellacuría

The article examines the notion of negativity in some of Ellacuría’s texts and shows how his engagement with Hegel and Marx allowed him to emphasize the presence of negation in the Christian message. In his reflection on injustice as a starting point, in his critique of ideologization, and in his concept of historical prophecy, Ellacuría highlighted negativity. Finally, the author questions the relevance and timeliness of this critical legacy.
