A study on the acquisition of skills to create scientific-legal texts

The skills studied in this investigation is the ability to create scientific-legal texts. The relevance of this study relies on the fact that it allows us to get to know both the strengths and weaknesses of the subject matter. The main objective is to assess the level of achievement in the development of the competency to create scientific legal texts, as demonstrated by Law students who have completed their major. This research took place at Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador during 2014. The type of study was descriptive-qualitative. The participants were law students enrolled in the pre-specialization course. The population and sample consisted of 81 students. The instrument used measured four categories: poor, basic, proficient and outstanding. The overall results of the study show that the competency to elaborate scientific-legal texts reached 6.2% in the lowest level; 33.33% at the basic level; 44.44% at the proficient level, and 16.04% at the outstanding level. It can be concluded that the level achieved showed they were proficient.
