Taiwanese food consumption as a form of acculturation : case Taiwan-Santa Tecla

This article is part of the research thesis to qualify for the degree in Anthropology, called “Presence of Taiwanese cultural traits in the daily life of Santa Tecla”, which measured different elements or traits of Taiwanese culture in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. This article emphasizes on one of the cultural features identified, the consumption of Taiwanese food by the community, and how it helps to collateralize individuals in the society as food promotes cultural diffusion and in turn allows Taiwanese community to insert and adapt to society. The study is of multimodal character, in which it was conducted a descriptive study of populations through surveys, and multiple case studies.
