Based on three study cases, this investigation analyzes the current status of the incorporation of a gender perspective in the study programs of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru). The two General Studies departments of Science and Liberal Arts are the starting point, in the academic education of most of the students of the PUCP, thus justifies its analysis; whereas the faculty of education constitutes the third study case as is the only one that explicitly includes gender themes in the curriculum, as well as the transversalizational approach emphasis in its practice. Based on a combined methodology of textual analysis of the study programs, interviews to professors, students, and academic advisors, we endeavor in the achievements, challenges and opportunities of the inclusion of a gender perspective in the professional formation imparted in these three departments.
