Abstract

The purpose of this document is to introduce some professors’ research narratives concerning their experiences within the post-grade academic scenarios of Social Sciences and Education, in an effort to highlight the micro-inequalities in inter-gender coexistence which exposed existing symbolic discriminatory violence as an extension of the patriarchal behavior in social interaction that even permeates the higher education scenarios. The performed qualitative investigation applied a critical hermeneutical approach adopting a narrative-type- study and reported experiences as referential frame for its interpretation and comprehension. Resulting data exposes polarized views and heightened tensions in current argumentation, just as symbolic violence is manifested in inter-gender coexistence in universities, particularly within the teaching endeavor. Actions are meant to be strengthened from a justice recognition perspective for gender equality in the relational framework that exposes education inequalities resulting from androcentric postures in higher education.
