Abstract

El Salvador is not a country that gives our young people many opportunities to get out of the circle of poverty and inequality in which they were born. Situation that requires the need to implement public policies that reduce inequalities and lack of opportunities to prevent the transmission of intergenerational inequality. Greater equity, however, its intrinsic value is not enough, it is also essential to generate a business climate that encourages investment and employment generation. Next, the economic and social panorama will be briefly presented, the situation of inequity in the access to goods, services, and education and its repercussions in the expectations and social mobility. As well as suggestions to reduce inequities and improve the efficiency of public policies.
