This opinion article aims to draw readers' attention to the serious increase in femicides in the country. The issue that is being addressed, despite having been around since ancient times in the country, due to the fact that their society has developed under patriarchal and sexist patterns in which the different types of violence against women and among them the most serious, feminicide have been seen as "normal", has allowed femicides to have been little visible and much less systematically studied. The efforts to date have been made mainly from civil society organizations that work in defense of women's rights.
