The notion implicit in the expression "Research Lines" has been worked on a lot, but no substantive and specific agreement has been reached. A very general and superficial agreement seems to be that it involves a certain interaction between researchers based on the attention to the same disciplinary or problematic area, but the nature, structure and function of that interaction is conceived in a very different way according to the authors who have studied the subject, according to the declarations and institutional practices, according to the research cultures and even according to the different epistemological approaches and styles of thought of the people who found or manage research lines or Postgraduate programs.
