Tourism and social capital in El Salvador : a reflection from the anthropology of development

In this article, we reflect implicitly on the link between tourism and community development. It also deals critically with the conditions in which the agencies involved and the communities have to address this important issue, especially when it has become a spearhead for national development. We start from a tourist push that leaves on the one hand the sociocultural factor all that this entails as an identity element is considered as something intrusive to the depository societies of that factor.
