It is a topic of interest, because the use and abuse of industrial property rights, specifically that of trademarks, may favor or affect owners and consumers thereof, in the case of the latter the preference in trademarks rests on the trust for its quality, duration, etc.
Actually, the issue triggers a diversity of phenomena, but I will refer exactly to two aspects that have to do directly with the use and abuse of brands: the regime of unfair competition and the interest of consumers as a good to be protected. That way they are presented separately and at the end a brief analysis is made in this regard.
