The present investigation is the result of the field and cabinet work of the archaeological excavation carried out between the months of November and December of 2006, in the Historic Old Town Archaeological Site, Suchitoto, Cuscatlán, El Salvador. This research was carried out, thanks to the coordination of the Department of Archeology of Concultura, the School of Anthropology of the Technological University of El Salvador and the Salvadoran Academy of History, three institutions that ensure research, safeguarding and dissemination of the Salvadoran cultural heritage and that work in a joint plan for the development of the archaeological-historical site of Ciudad Vieja.
The main objective of the research was to register, safeguard, rescue, conserve, protect, disseminate and value the historic archaeological heritage of Ciudad Vieja, through the completion of an archaeological survey in the area that will affect the repair of the street in access to the Old City site.
