This research is mainly focused on rethinking the concept of public opinion that has managed to break into the social sciences since the eighties of the twentieth century, reinforced by the presence and influence of the mass media and institutions responsible for developing opinion surveys, rescuing the concept of public opinion that occurred in the eighteenth century and under which the necessary changes deployed demanded by European societies. This vision of public opinion formulated by Jürgen Habermas, is the guiding thread to generate critical thinking and put in its proper dimension a concept that in the contemporary world has been diluted by the irruption of new actors, media, especially assume an uncritical attitude in current history plagued by major social problems.
