University, productive sector and the economic, social and educational development of El Salvador

Abstract

A recent study by the Technological University of El Salvador reveals the current situation of the relationship between universities and the productive sector and the obstacles that exist in economic, social and educational development. The needs and challenges of this binomial for the 21st century are detailed. The study carried out a survey in which 340 companies from the different productive sectors were selected, of which 284 were obtained.
The survey reveals that the majority of companies consider that there is no type of link with universities and that the educational offer served by private universities have the academic programs corresponding to the needs of professionals and technicians demanded by society. However, the academic areas in which it is considered necessary to create and strengthen links are research projects, technological development, administrative techniques and the area of ​​human resources.
