Abstract

The present work arose from the need to investigate, in the first place, which are the alternate ways to improve the health status of the Salvadoran people, since the costs of medical consultation and medicines, day by day become more expensive; secondly, when observing the lack of capacity of the public health system to provide medical services to all the uninsured population in the country that, in turn, lacks the sufficient and necessary economic resources to go to private medical services.
The work contains an introduction, a historical preamble, a theoretical framework, a panorama of the entry of health in El Salvador; a description of the socio-economic and cultural characteristics of the regions where the fieldwork was carried out, the description of the fieldwork through the total transcription or summary of the most relevant interviews and, finally, the findings of the research, the conclusions and the bibliography used.
