Abstract

The basic categories that allow the elaboration of an ethical thought are freedom and responsibility. The ability of man to determine himself, to assume the direction of his life, and to exercise this capacity in a concrete action, determines him as a free man and as free, an ethical subject.
The possibility of self-determination introduces the ethical in what refers to man.
Moral freedom is the possibility of exercising moral action. It does not consist only in the possibility of choosing, but, in the measure of that choice, that contributes to the true growth of the person.
