The concept of economic development, defined and accepted theoretically, means in a few words, a process of growth of the economy, but coupled with an improvement in the welfare of the population.
We cannot talk about economic development, if it does not involve a layer of social progress, which includes the broadest sectors of the population.
Although the particular political space of each country defines the nature of its development strategy with respect to its own realities, it is not possible to ignore, nowadays, that social backwardness severely limits the potential of growth.
Every poor family, that does not access the basic basket, that cannot provide the necessary study for their children, that lacks the conditions of a decent life, instead of being an engine for growth is a burden.
Many times, I do not understand why, I do not want to accept that poverty is a limit for the growth of a market economy, which is strengthened by greater demand and a higher purchasing power.
